Costume Design Program

Do you find yourself imagining different worlds and what the people in them might look like? Have you ever   been inspired by clothes and fashion? Have you ever seen an old item of clothing and thought, “I could do something with that!”  Let your imagination run wild! Our Costume Design Program is home to a diverse group of creative students who specialize in bringing their artistic visions to life. Working with the area’s most talented faculty and guest artists, costume majors are trusted with the design, implementation, and construction of costumes, hair, and theatrical makeup for our entire season.

At the end of the year, it’s time for our costumers to take the spotlight in our annual Fashion Show. Based on a thematic challenge, our designers plan, design, and construct two different looks for the runway – culminating in a fully produced fashion showcase of their talents.

Please read all information carefully. The ability to follow directions is paramount to your success in the Theater Department. All interested auditionees must FIRST apply to the Hillsborough County Schools Choice program and select Blake High School Costume Design (check the county website for dates). You will be contacted by the school through the email you entered on your application (check your junk/spam mail) with audition dates and times.
